So if the Canadian Economy was so much than America's stronger why did it fall into a recession anyway?
- America is our strongest trade partner and was a huge contribution to our trade surplus
Many speculate that the Canadian economy recovered so much faster was because we did not fall quite as deep into a recession as the rest of the world. That much is true; however, what we have realized was that Government intervention/regulation was a major component in the prevention of our economy absolutely failing as horribly as the rest of the fully industrialized nations.
So, what is your take on government regulation?
